2019 Bible Reading Plan

This year we are repeating the Bible Reading Plan we used in 2017. We will use it to read through the New Testament in a year – Five Days a Week – in about Five minutes a day, with Five ways to dig deeper each day. It’s Discipleship Journal’s 5x5x5 Bible Reading Plan.

You can print your own hardcopy of this reading plan by clicking the link, or you can use the YouVersion Bible App. It’s listed as Discipleship Journal’s 5x5x5 Reading Plan (or you could just click the link!)

Using this reading plan each day, you’ll read one chapter from the New Testament. By the end of 2019, you will have read the entire New Testament in small, bite-sized portions.

Just in case you get behind in your reading, you’ll have two days each week where you can catch up, or you can just use those two days to reflect on the previous week’s readings.

Last year’s Bible Reading Plan went through the entire Bible in a roughly-chronological order. It was very helpful to read the Bible as God’s plan unfolded. When we read about Israel and Judah’s kings, we had parallel readings from Kings and Chronicles. And when we read about the life of David, we read Psalms that related to that particular part of his life.

For more information about Discipleship Journal, or its parent ministry The Navigators, just click the links; a new tab will open for you so you can always come back here. Over the years, I have appreciated the ministry of The Navigators, NavPress, and Discipleship Journal. Their resources are well-written, theologically solid, and trustworthy. The Navigators is devoted to a mission of helping disciples to Know, Grow, and Go.

Growing in grace and knowledge,
